1. Meet us at SPS/IPC/Drives, Nuremberg - Germany November 24-26: Hall 7 booth 190  

PLCopen will have a booth at the coming SPS/IPC/Drives together with OPC Foundation.

The purpose of this joint exhibit is to highlight the cooperation between the two organizations with a live demo showing the first results of the PLCopen - OPC UA on-going specification work. Shown in the demo is the mapping of the IEC 61131-3 software model to OPC Unified Architecture. This is done with 5 HMI products coupled to 5 controllers running the same boiler application and showing transparent data exchange using OPC UA.  

 

  • Eelco van der Wal will present the latest news on PLCopen - OPC UA during the Vendor Presentation at the Forum of ZVEI on Tuesday November 24, 10:00 in Hall 8, booth 8-512

  • There is a press conference on the cooperation with OPC Foundation on Wednesday November 25, 10:45 at CCN Ost, level 2, room Kiev

  • On Wednesday November 25 there is a get together at our booth for all those interested in Motion Control at 17:00. Please feel free to participate in this event.

2. Meet PLCopen Japan at the System Control Fair, Tokyo

The bi-annual System Control Fair takes place November 25-28 in Tokyo. The SCF provides the latest information on controlling systems, equipment and software for industrial fields under the theme "Manufacturing Your Future," with environment, safety and the art of manufacturing as keywords. PLCopen Japan will again have a booth at this event.  

The Chairman of PLCopen, Rene Simon, will also attend the System Control Fair 2009.  

A meeting with PLCopen members is scheduled for November 27 to discuss the current activities of PLCopen Japan and the roadmap for the future.

ABB Stotz Kontakt, based in Germany, has been awarded the PLCopen Motion Control Certification for their product  ABB AC500 PS551-MC Motion Control Library.

4. PLCopen sponsors ARC 2010 Orlando Forum, USA  

PLCopen is again an association sponsor for the ARC World Industry Forum, which takes place in Orlando, Florida - USA on February 8-11, 2010.  

ARC's World Industry Forum provides the ideal environment for industry executives to collaborate on solving their most challenging issues.  The event will include sessions on most major issues facing our industry, with multiple tracks that enable executives to explore these topics from different perspectives.  Owner/operators, solution providers, and technical experts will all benefit from this experience and can contribute to the solution to most challenging issues.
