1. Hannover Messe, April 8-12, 2013

2. OPC Day Europe on May 15-16, 2013

 

The OPC Foundation will hold its next event at Yokogawa Europe on May 15-16 at their headquarters in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. The program starts at 14:00 on Wednesday May 15 and concludes with lunch at 13:00 on May 16.

 

This day offers top speakers to provide a mix of information on technology, cooperation with PLCopen and other organizations like BACnet, MTConnect, ISA-95.

 

Eelco van der Wal of PLCopen will present the results of the cooperation, such as the mapping of the IEC 61131-3 Software Model to the OPC UA name space. Also shown are

the scalability of OPC UA with 10kb footprint down into sensor level, controller to controller communication based on PLCopen based OPC UA Function Blocks, but also learning success stories about production line connecting shop floor to top floor via OPC UA.

Meat and learn about solutions from Yokogawa, ABB, Beckhoff, Ascolab, Fraunhofer and many others.

3. New PLCopen Motion Control certifications

 

The PLCopen Motion Control certification has been awarded to

Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. for their product L Serie LD77MH4 simple motion module, GX Works2, and to

Siemens AG for their product SIMATIC S7-1500.

 

This brings the total number of certified companies to 29 and of certified products to 42.

4. PLCopen Base Level IL certification for Mitsubishi

 

From the start of PLCopen one of the activities was the certification of the IEC 61131-3 editors. Subject of testing and certification are software tools, which are implemented according to the standard IEC 61131-3 and additional requirements of PLCopen.

 

PLCopen is pleased to announce that Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. has successfully passed the tests performed by the test laboratory of iak in Germany, for the Certification of a system according to PLCopen Base Level for IL (Instruction List). The certification is for their product Melsoft GX Works.
