1. OPC UA specification version 1.00 released
PLCopen and the OPC Foundation are pleased to announce the official release of the specification OPC UA Information Model for IEC 61131-3, version 1.00.
The document can be downloaded from our website www.plcopen.org/pages/tc4_communication/.
PLCopen and the OPC Foundation joined forces in 2008 to combine their technologies to a platform and manufacturer-independent information and communication architecture. A combined working group was started, focused to the mix of OPC Unified Architecture (UA) and IEC 61131-3, which creates interesting options for the realization of automation structures. The objective of the combined technologies is to increase the efficiency of the engineering process and information exchange.

2. Meet us at Light & Building, Frankfurt - Germany, April 11-16, hall 9.0 booth C10
PLCopen will have a booth at the Light & Building exhibition together with the OPC Foundation.
This joint exhibit highlights the cooperation between the two organizations with a live demo showing the results of the PLCopen - OPC UA joint work. Shown in the demo is the mapping of the IEC 61131-3 software model to OPC Unified Architecture. This is done with 6 HMI products coupled to 6 controllers running the same boiler application and showing transparent data exchange using OPC UA.
The following companies will participate in the demo. Controllers: Ifak (Siemens-S7), Logicals, KW-Software, UnifiedAutomation, Beckhoff and Bosch-Rexroth. Scada: Allmendinger, Inosoft, Ascolab, Certec, Iconics and CopaData.
Eelco van der Wal, Managing Director of PLCopen, will be at the booth on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

3. Meet us at Hanover Fair, Hanover - Germany, April 19-23, hall 9 booth A54
PLCopen will have a booth at the coming Hanover Fair together with the OPC Foundation.

4. New Motion Control compliance certification
Bosch Rexroth AG, Drives & Controls in Germany has been awarded the PLCopen Motion Control Certification for their product ML_PLCopen.library.
In conjunction with the Motion Logic automation system IndraMotion MLC Bosch Rexroth has updated its certification of the PLCopen library with basic Motion Control function blocks. Based on the broad experience in several hundreds of applications this Motion Control library was enhanced since 2003. With additional libraries compliant to the PLCopen data model the user has now access to more than 100 function blocks.
