Benefits of PLCopen Membership

Membership of PLCopen has many benefits for vendors, users and institutes:

	Direct influence on technical issues >
	Contact with other vendors, users and institutes. These informal contacts have proven to be a major benefit to the members.
	Early exchange of information: during meetings and via the minutes of meetings. Access is provided, also to non-member of the committee
	Definition of and early access to benchmarks, for example for compliance testing
	Early recognition of trends
	Relationships for complementary products. Many users and vendors look for complementary products. PLCopen members can be the right source
	Identification as a supporter of standardization. At many promotional activities of PLCopen the names of members are published. This is important free publicity
	Better user acceptance and recognition: users increasingly demand products according to the IEC 61131-3 standard. These users better accept a vendor that supports openly the standard.

Membership categories

PLCopen strongly supports the user community. For this it created additional membership categories. The annual contribution depends on voting and non-voting rights, the number of relevant employees and the nature of the organization. There are 3 different sizes: over 1,000 relevant employees, between 100 and 1000 and less than 100. The different organizational types are:

	Companies: commercial organizations active in the field of Industrial Control, IC
	Users: focused to the application and usage of IC
	Re-sellers: added value is not in the IC, nor its programming environment
	Non-profit organizations
	Educational institutes
